One Habit You Will Be Happy You Got Into!

I started to use Mary Kay products several years ago. At first I was not consistent. I would use the skin care for a few days then be in a rush and skip it for a day or two. Being stuck in some routines is a quick road to nowhere. I have spent a few years working in a very well meaning organization that is so entrenched in "The Way We Do Things" that they were not moving forward at all. You might have noticed that I use the term Skin Care Class when I am discussing a Mary Kay "Party" While we do have options for a variety of themes the main focus of most parties is learning about good skin care. It is a sunny Sunday here in my part of the world. A friend on Facebook started my day out with a video of the beach and waves this morning which was a wonderful way to wake up. I love Summer! I used to bake in the sun with baby oil and sunscreen. I know but I just loved the way I looked with a tan. Of course that was before I developed these dark spots on my hands and several of my friends got skin cancers. Let Down By The Claims Of Mineral Foundations Like I Was?

How many of you have bought mineral powder in the past year only to find it does not cover or provide the foundation you were looking for? I know that before I tried Mary Kay Mineral Foundation I had tried several others and I always found them lacking. Now I am not sure why they did not "replace" my liquid foundation, part of it may have been the quality of the products I bought and part of it was the lack of knowledge in how to apply it.

Are You Like I Was? - Searching For A Way To Be There With My Kids

I am one of those women who was truly "born" when I became a mother. Though it was almost 21 years ago I still remember the first time I held my son in my arms and thought "I am finally here." I know who I am and what I want to be when I grow up and this is it!

Well then financial realities being what they were made me choose to leave my precious child and find employment outside the home. Through the years that followed and two more children I found a way to bring in income and be at home with them. We owned some multi family properties that got us through and my husband went from self employed to union work which got us that all so important insurance.

Oh I still do it but the economy is changed and the stress has increased.

Plan Some Time With Your Girls

Taking time for ourselves is often the last thing we even think about doing. There is so much to do how can we possibly fit in anything else? Well the truth is you will accomplish more if you take some time to relax and enjoy the company of friends.

One great way to relax is to get together with your girlfriends and share a Mary Kay Skin Care event or theme party. All you need to do is pick a date, provide a list of names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses, and get a few snacks together for the night. I take care of sending out invitations, keeping track of the RSVPs, calling everyone on the guest list a few days before the party to make sure they got the invitations and plan to attend, and I bring the "entertainment"! Your Face Really Is Softer Than It Used To Be

Well that was a nice thing to hear first thing this morning. My husband gets up and heads out the door to work at the crack of early on work days. His alarm goes off, at least three times because he is a fan of the SNOOZE BUTTON (the worst invention ever in my opinion) at 4 something o'clock and he is out the door by 4:30 AM. So this morning he touched my face and said "You know your face is really softer than it used to be."

The amazing thing about this is that just two nights ago I started using the Night Solution from the Mary Kay TimeWise collection. Finding Energy To Keep On Keepin' On

Taking time for you is the most important thing you can do right now. We all need to take time for us. Many of us are so busy with school, work, family obligations, and just getting through our never ending to do lists that we forget to stop and reward ourselves. We used to say "if momma ain't happy then nobody is happy" and that is true whether you are a mom or not. The first person you need to care for is yourself then you can give so much more to others and give it happily.

This is not being selfish it is avoiding the trap of being selfless. You can not be happy if you ignore your own needs all the time. By carving out an hour or two to have a relaxing facial by yourself or with a few friends or to host a larger skin care class where we will play games, learn how to pamper ourselves in our daily routines, and just laugh and have a great time, you will be doing everyone who you are trying to work with a favor. As you relax and enjoy you will find energy to do for others. It is truly amazing to find that by stopping the rat race for a few hours you will actually be able to get more done.

Don't Try To Frost A Crumbly Cake

I was just thinking about the importance of proper skin care to your overall look. I wonder how many of you have ever baked a cake and had it fall apart when you removed it from the pan but tried to frost it anyway? One of the reasons I became involved in my new Mary Kay business is the opportunity I have to help people celebrate the beauty within. The whole process of providing individual attention to each person at a skin care class or to a few people at a facial appointment can be the start of something wonderful in someone's life. We allow ourselves a moment in the crazy run around life we have to do something fun and relaxing for ourselves.
